We find that many of our residents enjoy group events such as watching the Packers on television. Of course, time with family, friends and volunteers in their own rooms can be enjoyable as well.
With the greatest respect for private moments, we realize that socializing is not always spontaneous.
We provide social opportunities each day and encourage our residents to pursue the activities that interest them.
Gables on the Pond and Gables of Waldo both offer loads of activities. We have an activities director and community volunteers
who enjoy dropping by to share in crafts and social fun. Our residents can receive family visitors any time. And, of course, we are often visited by youth groups and treated to a variety of entertainment.
This also gives our residents an opportunity to pass along their own
experiences to our young visitors.
When weather permits, we all enjoy the grounds. As our name suggests, we have a pond with a wheelchair-accessible pier. The pond is stocked with fish for some extra fun. Resident seniors don't need a fishing license to enjoy fishing here.
Indoor activities include games, shared crafts and stimulating
learning activities. We make every attempt to tailor our activities
to the individual skills, interests, and abilities of each of our
residents
